Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish that usually consists of rice marinated in vinegar and combined with various ingredients such as seafood, vegetables and occasionally tropical fruits.
The best-known forms often contain raw fish, but sushi can also be completely vegetarian. Vegetarian sushi avoids fish and focuses on plant-based ingredients such as avocado, cucumber, carrots, tofu, pickled radish, sweet potato and asparagus. The health benefits of vegetarian sushi outweigh the dietary restrictions and are ideal for vegans, vegetarians or those who avoid seafood for health, ethical or religious reasons. Sushi is light and easily digestible and can be prepared in different variations. On this evening, you will learn how to prepare nigiris, makis, onigiri and gunkan.
Surprise your guests with real Japanese sushi at your next invitation. Please bring along storage containers for any leftovers. Cooking takes place in the training kitchen with induction hobs.
Please bring along storage containers for any leftovers. The food costs of EUR 15 per evening are already included in the fee. If you have any food intolerances, please contact the department before the course evening.
