Description Africa’s justice and penal systems retain colonial foundations that perpetuate inequality, criminalize poverty, and disproportionately harm women and marginalized communities. Feminist lawyering confronts these structures through community-centered, rights-based approaches that advance equity, dignity, and decolonial justice reform.
Rebecca Mweru Kabejja is a feminist lawyer and Pan-African feminist whose work challenges racialized and discriminatory justice systems globally while centering decolonial principles and the rights of marginalized communities.
