With roots in the Ruhr and Rhine Valleys, Ruth moved to the UK after her Abitur. She studied applied Film & Drama in Reading followed by an MSc in Gender, Society & Culture in London. Since then she’s worked with both cultural and civil society organisations, from booking and managing tours for an independent theatre company, to running a historic art-house cinema in North London and supporting the National Gallery’s development team. Alongside her ‘day-job’ in fundraising and management, she’s been teaching film studies (and art history) classes in adult education for 25 years. Having moved back to the Rhine Valley in Summer 2025, she’s keen to share her passion for film and cinema and her knowledge of British culture with people in the Bonn region.
